Investigation and Analysis of Intercultural Sensitivity of Non-English Majors

In the increasingly globalized world, intercultural competence is of great importance. Intercultural sensitivity one important contents competence. This study uses Sensitivity Scale developed by Chen & Starosta among 132 undergraduates who are non-English majors in Hunan Institute Technology an attempt to understand current situation their and correlation between five major dimensions sensitivity. finds that levels relatively average. Specifically, level respect for cultural differences highest, followed interaction engagement, enjoyment, attentiveness confidence. Pearson analysis shows there significant positive except no enjoyment. Among them, engagement strongest, respects differences, enjoyment confidence also strong. can provide certain guidance further improving communication college students promoting teaching English enriching research future.
